I'm smitten: Weekend Brunch!

Breakfast food is some of my favorite food.  And who doesn't love a delicious, leisurely brunch?  You know, the kind where you get to sleep in first?  Ahhh, love to enjoy that with friends on the weekend. Especially good if you have a bit of a hangover.  Anyway, my step-mom is particularly adept at making a healthy breakfast that's still mighty tasty.  She has a pan that's only allowed to be used for eggs - maybe that's the secret?  So when I visited my fam on the weekend, after rising late on Sunday morning, I was treated to this omelette with spinach, peppers, avocado, and Italian sausage.   It was a pretty cheery way to start the day!

Walking past a market on the street: is it weird that these fennel remind me of human hearts?  Not sure if that's a flashback to my university experience with the cadaver lab, or if I've just seen too many vampire movies lately?

I’m smitten: 24 hour Cupcake ATM

Sprinkles Bakery in California has recently unveiled a 24 hour Cupcake Vending Machine (it looks like a pink ATM!) at their Beverly Hills location, that will allow night-owls with the munchies to select & buy any of 600 different cupcakes (made fresh daily) to be dispensed at all hours, even when the store’s closed.

Of course it’s totally frivolous - I wouldn’t deny this probably makes some kind of statement about instant gratification in our society…  

But sometimes it’s a fun luxury to get exactly what you’re craving, exactly when you crave it.  Especially after a late night out. :)  And it’s a cool invention - I always seem to think of going to my local gourmet bakery on Sunday when it’s closed.

So, whaddya think, vending machine gods?  Some other items I’d love to see in a 24 hour ATM-style machine (especially in airports): band-aids, cell phone/iPod chargers, earphones, pantyhose, hand sanitizer, corkscrew/bottle-openers, and shoelaces.

Bottom line: less bombs, more cupcakes!

I'm cool with chomping on some Star Wars characters.  Those look funny/yummy.  But Prince Will & Kate?  Uh, I can appreciate that it's impressively artistic...  But wouldn't eating that just feel a bit creepy?! :S
Unless you really want to say, "I'm biting off William's head!"  ha ha
